Measuring Our Impact in LA County
Tracking the difference legal representation makes for immigrant families and communities across Los Angeles.
The Immigrant Story of Los Angeles
Immigrants have deep roots in Los Angeles County. They are more than 35 percent of its population, and the overwhelming majority ?????? 90 percent ?????? have been in the United States for more than a decade.
In our city, immigrants are more than 51 percent of business owners and almost 72 percent of essential services workers. About 18 percent of the county's residents are undocumented or live with someone who is, and nearly half of households with an undocumented family member depend on that person's income.
When the federal government detains and deports Angelenos, families and whole communities hurt deeply. Children lose parents, businesses lose owners, and neighborhoods lose the people who make them vibrant.
Where We Make a Difference
Families Kept Together
Legal representation helps immigrants win their cases and stay with their families. Our attorneys fight for parents, spouses, and community members who would otherwise face deportation alone.
Economic Stability
Immigrants contribute enormously to our local economy. By keeping workers, business owners, and taxpayers in their communities, RepresentLA helps protect the economic fabric of Los Angeles.
Due Process for All
Access to legal counsel is fundamental to justice. RepresentLA ensures that immigrants in LA County have access to the legal representation they deserve, regardless of their ability to pay.
Made Possible By
RepresentLA is funded by a public-private partnership committed to immigrant justice.
