Investing in Impacted Communities
When the federal government detains and deports Angelenos, families and whole communities hurt deeply. We're here to help.
Legal Access for All
Ensuring that severely underrepresented communities receive access to quality legal counsel, regardless of background or immigration status.
Unlike in criminal proceedings, immigrants in removal proceedings have no constitutional right to an attorney. This means thousands of Angelenos face the possibility of deportation without any legal guidance. RepresentLA exists to close that gap, providing skilled legal representation to those who need it most.
Family Support Services
Linking clients and their household members to available support services during legal representation ?????? from housing to mental health.
Immigration enforcement doesn't just affect individuals ?????? it devastates entire families. Our holistic approach connects families with social services, mental health resources, housing assistance, and other critical support to help them navigate the challenges they face during and after legal proceedings.
Community Voices
Our Community Advisory Group ensures the program incorporates the voices and concerns of impacted community members and responds effectively to changes in law and policy.
The Community Advisory Group brings together immigrants, advocates, community leaders, and service providers to shape the direction of RepresentLA. This ensures our programs remain responsive to real community needs and that impacted individuals have a direct voice in how services are delivered.
Communities We Serve
RepresentLA is committed to ensuring that our most vulnerable and underserved communities have access to quality legal representation and holistic support services.
Black & Indigenous Communities
Black and Indigenous immigrants face unique challenges in the immigration system. RepresentLA partners with culturally competent providers to ensure these communities receive appropriate representation.
LGBTQ+ Immigrants
LGBTQ+ immigrants often face persecution in their home countries and unique vulnerabilities in detention. Our network includes providers with specific expertise in LGBTQ+ immigration cases.
Asian & Pacific Islander Communities
Los Angeles is home to one of the largest Asian and Pacific Islander populations in the nation. We work with specialized providers to serve these communities with culturally and linguistically appropriate services.
